How to Elevate Your Windows for a High-End Look
By Georgia Barnes

After moving into our home nearly a year ago, following a major remodel, I knew one of my top priorities was to invest in beautiful and high-quality window coverings. After extensive research, I discovered TWOPAGES and immediately felt confident their products would be a perfect fit for our space. For years as an interior designer, I’ve sourced and selected window treatments for my clients and understand just how transformative the right window covering can be for a room. Here are a few of my favorite tips for elevating your windows to create a high-end, designer-inspired look.
Hang Curtains High and Wide
A common mistake I see is hanging curtain rods directly above the window frame, which can make windows feel smaller and ceilings lower. Instead, mount your curtain rods closer to the ceiling to create the illusion of height, and extend the rod beyond the window frame to give the appearance of wider, more expansive windows. I like to position the rod about two-thirds of the way between the top of the window casing and the ceiling. Extending the rod 8-12 inches past the window frame on either side, as it allows more natural light to enter the room and beautifully frames the view. Don’t forget curtain length—your drapes should “kiss the floor” for a polished, custom look.

Choose Quality, Timeless Fabrics
The fabric you select can truly define the style and mood of a room. I tend to gravitate toward natural materials or natural blends because they offer a soft, organic aesthetic while still feeling elevated. For our own home, I selected the Jawara Linen in Oatmeal from TWOPAGES. This classic neutral hue, brought warmth and dimension to our open living space while seamlessly complementing the rest of the decor. Many of TWOPAGES’ offerings feature linen blends, which give the elegant look of natural fibers along with the durability needed for a home with kids, pets, and the everyday hustle of life.

Incorporate Architectural Details

While we eventually plan to replace our current vinyl windows with aluminum-clad, I wanted to find a solution that would make a noticeable impact with the way they are now. Adding decorative casing around each window was a game-changer. Even simple trim can dramatically elevate the look and feel of a room. Small, thoughtful upgrades like this can make a big visual difference without requiring a major investment. Our homes are a reflection of who we are, and as such, they’re worth investing in. Creating a space that feels intentional and beautiful doesn’t have to happen all at once—it’s an ongoing process, built with time, care and detail.
