Designing a Functional Small Bathroom
By Devorah Bukiet
Small Space, Big Planning
Here is a little bathroom that sits just outside of a playroom. When planning a small space, a lot of attention and care to detail is important to ensure the space feels sensible and functional for its most efficient usage. This bathroom is a perfect example of such a scenario. It was a needed space but only had just enough room to make it happen and so every inch and choice was deeply taken into account.

The Foundation: Tiles with Character
It began when I had these exciting tiles put in to create a fun and sophisticated vibe that could also grow with the family over time as everyone grows up. We wanted to create a happy, earthy and almost kind of neutral backdrop without being basic and boring and this was the best way to pull it off. I think people often assume neutral means plain and solid but neutrals can be read in many ways and with various elements.

Adding Warmth with a Rustic Vanity
We then paired them with a rustic vanity to warm up all the whites and chrome metals and again speak to our earthy and neutral direction. The mirror, a perfect fit, looks like it was made for the tiles with its cutout designs.
Choosing the Perfect Statement Curtain
At last, when it came to the shower curtain, I really wanted something floor to ceiling and something with a big impact that would not scream at you either. We needed a warm and mature piece to counter the whimsy of the tiles, the earthiness of the vanity and keep our theme sophisticated. I found this gorgeous panel at TWOPAGES and chose it to be the shower curtain for this sweet little bathroom.

Texture, Pattern and Personality
It gives it more pattern play and levels up the personality. I love how this chic forest print contrasts beautifully with the deco tiles and the fabric texture feels and is really well made. I am all about textures so I just love fabrics with nice texture! This print also really works with the playroom area and acts as an offshoot to the rug that is there. They make for a great conversation.
Maximizing Scale in a Petite Space
The panel is hanging to hide the rod and to allow maximum ceiling to floor height to play with the scale of this petite space. We also added the TWOPAGES shower curtain liner so that it is also practical for showering use.

I love looking at this bathroom so much, it makes me smile seeing all the components come together so seamlessly.
