Measure the width of your window frame or curtain rod first. We recommend adding 4–6 inches on each side for a balanced look, but you can also choose to align flush with the window for a modern, minimalist style. Next, measure the desired height from where the top will be mounted to the bottom of the valance or cornice. Finally, measure the return (distance from the wall to the front of the rod or track) to ensure the hardware is fully covered.
Return refers to the distance from the wall to the front edge of the valance or cornice. It ensures the window treatment fully conceals curtain rods, tracks, or brackets for a clean and polished appearance.

Be aware of these underlying tones as you match colors. Neutral colors are muted shades that appear to lack color but often have underlying hues that change with different lighting.
