Top Three Curtain Patterns for the Modern Traditional Home

By Esther Ellard

One of the design styles that our studio is most known for is Modern Traditional. Balance is the defining term of this design style. Balance between both the modern and traditional but also balance between elegance and livability. Modern Traditional can sometimes be described as timeless because it is rooted not in trends but in fresh, livable comfort. Window treatments in this style of home are even more important as they can add the finishing touch to any space.

Curtain Patterns for Modern Traditional Home

Celia Cafe Curtain in Khaki Pinstripe

One of my top pattern picks that TWOPAGES offers that is perfect for a modern traditional home is Celia Cafe Curtain in Khaki Pinstripe. Nothing says traditional than pinstripes and cafe curtains. There is something grounding about this classic pattern design. I specifically appreciate the Khaki shade because it has those earthy, grounded tones that are all over the more modern designed homes. This pattern is particularly perfect for elongating smaller windows surrounding a breakfast nook or over a kitchen sink.

Stefana Silber Block Print: Large and Regular

Next up is the Stefana Silber Block Print in Large and regular. The pattern itself has the smallest details which lends to a more traditional look while also having enough negative space to lean towards a more modern look. This particular pattern comes in  a variety of shades and sizes which I would recommend for any space. The larger block print could be used in a living room with floor to ceiling windows to balance out the height. The smaller block prints can be used to add a hint of pattern play and femininity in a bedroom or kids nursery.

Sara Le Leafy Pattern

Last but not least is the Sara Le Leafy pattern. What I love about this particular pattern in the collaborative line is that they can be both moody and light depending on the space. Bringing a touch of nature inside is a hallmark of modern homes and this pattern does just that. The Leafy pattern in Wine or Bronze can elevate a luxurious bathroom or moody bedroom space quickly. The pattern in shades of Stone and Travertine are the perfect selection for a more subtle traditional touch to a more modern or contemporary living room.

When designing modern traditional homes, every detail matters. Balancing the juxtaposition of both of these styles and blending it into one cohesive space can really be done with design touches like window treatments. These top three pattern picks from TWOPAGES are just a few of my favorites but truly encompass the style of a modern traditional home.
