The Detail That Changed the Room

Mode & Muse – Reflections on interiors, detail, and daily living

The detail that changed the room wasn’t a piece of furniture or a bold renovation decision. It was the window treatments.
Before the new drapery was installed, our dining room felt monochromatic and a bit dull. Prior to removing the shared wall between the kitchen and dining space, the room leaned dark and flat, even with thoughtful finishes throughout the rest of the home.

After installing custom drapery panels, the space immediately felt more open, inviting, and full of personality. By doubling the panel width and extending the brackets several inches beyond the window frame, the drapery now reads like art on the walls. It adds richness, softness, and movement in a way I didn’t realize the room was missing.

That transformation truly reflects why working with TWOPAGES Curtains felt like an aligned choice from the start. From the beginning, the experience was thoughtful and transparent. I was able to build my sample library with their fabric books and experience the product firsthand. As a designer, that matters. I only recommend sources I’ve personally worked with and trust, because my clients rely on that level of discernment.

When the drapery arrived, I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the packaging alone. Each panel was folded beautifully, with no creases, even after sitting safely stored in my studio for months during our kitchen and first-floor remodel.

When it was finally time to hang them, the moment felt ceremonial. The fabric and liner were both soft and substantial, and seeing the Sarah Le Print Linen Drapes in Jade draped across my dining table heightened the anticipation of the final install.

Living with them has been the true test. When I walk into the kitchen each morning, my eyes instantly land on the drapery panels. The soft, olive-toned green brings warmth and calm, while the perfectly trained folds and pinch pleat header add an elevated layer of luxury.

I paired gold drapery rings with black hardware to tie into other fixtures in the space, creating a balance between casual and refined.

One detail I didn’t expect to love as much as I do is TWOPAGES’ adjustable pin hooks. From a designer’s perspective, they’re brilliant. They allow for slight adjustments during installation, ensuring the panels kiss the floor perfectly even when measurements aren’t exact.

I’d confidently recommend TwoPages to designers, decorators, and detail-oriented DIY homeowners alike. Drapery is a specialty, and their thoughtful tools, guidance, and quality remove much of the guesswork, helping avoid costly mistakes while delivering a polished, professional result.

If you’re considering window treatments and wondering whether they’re worth the investment, this experience was a reminder of just how transformative the right detail can be.
