A Thoughtfully Designed Living Room with Elegant Drapery

By Devorah Bukiet

I am one for mixing prints and patterns. I love color and design and I adore seeing all the dreams come to life in a harmonious way.

This living room has a beautiful garden wallpaper. While the background is blush based, the details have so many fabulous colors that are combined to create this scenic delight.

Elevating French Doors with Drapery

The drapery is another huge element in this room as it practically takes over a full wall, enveloping two large french doors to the patio. The blush velvet panels were pretty but missing character that I knew the window treatments could offer. I searched and came across these gorgeous drapery panels from TWOPAGES Curtains that are so elegant and absolute perfection!

Olive Embroidery for Depth and Luxury

The olive color is just dreamy. The embroidery gives them dimension and adds texture which makes them feel and look so luxurious. The greek linear design is reminiscent of leaves but in an unusual way. It is classy, done so well, adds so much life and still feels so soft and pleasing to the eye.

Continuing the Garden Theme Subtly

They really pull from the leaves in the wallpaper and carry the scene across the wall in the place that may have been void of the garden print. What a better way then to continue the theme in a less obvious way by using this pattern to simulate the foliage moving along.

Balancing Whimsy and Tradition

They also have a traditional side to them which is a great pairing for the elements of the room that are a bit more playful and whimsical. We opted for the memory fold because I like when they sit neatly and paneled nicely. The pleating is elegant so it all really gives me a Parisienne glamor effect without even crossing the ocean.

Light, Air and Harmony

The ivory unlined base still gives me the sheer I like to bring in sunlight during the daytime and talks to the library which is also clad in a warm white surround. Everything has to communicate with one another to come together properly and effectively.

The Power of Intentional Design

Scale, balance, color and pattern. I believe mixing with intention adds so much warmth and individuality into the spaces I am designing, as it should be. No two homes are the same as no two people are. The homes we live in deserve to reflect our beauty and personality. Doing so offers us joyous living in timeless homes that create memories, experiences and togetherness.

Ultimately, there is no place like home when it feels like a masterpiece that was uniquely created special for you.
