A Guest Room Glow-Up with TWOPAGES Curtains

The Challenge

Designing for others is part of my everyday, but designing a space for guests in my own home was a new challenge of its own. Our guest room gets the most beautiful natural light, but that early morning brightness was becoming a problem. Nearly every guest would mention the same thing: “We loved staying here… but wow, it gets bright early!” I wanted the space to feel cheery and welcoming, but not at the cost of a good night’s sleep.

That’s where TWOPAGES came in.

Choosing and Installing the Curtains

I turned to their beautifully tailored curtain selection for a solution that was as functional as it was aesthetic. I landed on the Isabella Heavy Weight Pleated Cotton Drapery in the Gardenia color. The Isabella struck the perfect balance between effortless and elevated. It's textured and heavy enough to give the room depth and block out the light, but still breezy enough to keep things feeling light and relaxed. I already had a motorized track installed separately, which made hanging these panels effortless.

The curtains arrived well-packaged and ready to hang. As soon as they went up, the room felt finished. The panels frame the windows like art, grounding the space with a softness that invites rest and tranquility. I opted for pinch pleat headers and had them memory-shaped for a clean, structured drape, no fluffing required.

Functional and Design Benefits

Functionally, these curtains are a game changer. They are completely blackout, which allows our guests to sleep in. When closed, they offer privacy and calm. When open, they stack back beautifully, allowing natural light to fill the room during the day.

Design-wise, they bring cohesion to the space. I hung them high and wide to elongate the walls and chose a length that just kisses the floor. The fabric has a beautiful woven texture that complements the other vintage-inspired elements in the room, echoing our studio’s signature style: layered, soulful, and a little nostalgic.

Now when guests visit, they walk into a space that feels truly complete. Every detail is intentional and the room evokes a serene feeling that is also sleep-friendly. TWOPAGES made it easy to achieve a high-end, designer look with customizable features that suited both my vision and my space.

I always say: great design should feel as good as it looks. This guest room finally does.
