Keeping Trendy with 2025
By Arlyn Molina
You love all things home, but are not sure where to begin. Don’t worry! I completely understand this conundrum as I work with clients who struggle with the same issue. This year has brought a lot of personality and unique details to the world of interior design, so it is the perfect time to jump right in. Let’s catch you up to 2025.
1. Choose your favorite home decor elements.
One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is incorporating one's taste and style into design, but tastefully. This one is HUGE. What speaks to you? Whether it’s nature, cats, or flowers, bring yourself into your design. This could be through an artsy framed cat print, incorporating nature through wallpaper or bringing floral prints in through the use of pillows and throws. If you love it, there’s a way of bringing it home.

2. Thoughtful Window Treatments
Windows seem to have become the center stage of design. Think patterns and bold designs. Velvet is heavily leaning into the design world and so are busy but beautiful patterns. Pair these with a rod that is as equally impressive such as aged brass or a vibrant gold to contrast the heavy textures and materials. Patterned roman blinds or bamboo shades are also big for 2025.

3. Big Lamps
In the lamp world, bigger is better. Is it heavy, bulky and unique? You might just have a keeper in your hands! Instead of your typical drum lamp shade, we’re looking at fluted, slope or pleated designs. Metal and ceramic natural colors for bases help these blend seamlessly into any design.

4. Bold Kitchens
White kitchens might always be timeless, but trendy are blues, reds, or greens. Think lush green, deep blue, or burgundy reds paired with lacquered gold pulls or polished nickel knobs. The color combination makes for a truly unique and statement-making space.
5. Velvet
I knew this was coming a long way out. This soft texture instantly elevates any space when used and balanced correctly. Velvet sofas, accent chairs, throw pillows, and curtains are here to stay with the current state of YOU design. Combined with gold accents and natural materials, velvet will provide a combination that truly design savvy.

6. Beautiful Walls
No more boring walls around here! Wainscoting, wall panels, and wallpaper are dominating the interior design world now. There is a longing for spaces that are carefully curated and full of personality. These treatments accomplish just that.
Are you jumping on board for any of these trends? They are worth exploring solely for the purpose of understanding your OWN personal taste and style. Remember, design created with purpose can stand the test of time.
