Interior Design Trends Developing in 2025

Designing with Intention: What’s Inspiring Homes in 2025
Every year brings a fresh wave of ideas in interior design. We typically call them “trends,” but the truth is, most of them come and go faster than we can rearrange our living rooms. While I never encourage clients to chase a trend, there are always a few thoughtful shifts that keep your home feeling fresh, updated, and timeless.
In 2025, homeowners are leaning into spaces that feel warm, natural, and smartly functional—this feels to me like it’s less about trends and more about long-lasting comfort. Inside your home, that means materials that connect us to nature, layouts that make daily life easier, and details that infuse a sense of personality. Keeping an eye on this aesthetic can help you create a home that’s both current and enduring.
Drapery Takes the Stage
I always say that window treatments finish a room; they can do this subtly in the background, allowing the eyes to continue across the windows without being interrupted, or they can be a central part of the design story.

When window treatments are layered with natural materials and bolder colors and patterns, they become a central part of the design story. Consider personalizing your space with layers of natural materials like bamboo, woven woods, natural linen and cotton or silky velvet to create a bold focal point in a room.
Pro Tip: Crisp white drapes will subtly enhance and highlight every other color in the room.

Beyond the Windows
When it comes to your home, similar trends are emerging in a strong way. My clients are consistently asking for warm, nature-inspired tones—like rich cinnamon, soft green, and warm beige - and staying away from cooler grays and whites. Another detail I love to bring into their homes is vintage or globally inspired elements. These add a personal layer of character and authenticity, and paired with other textures found in nature such as stone, wood, and woven fibers, exude a warm and welcoming vibe that will lead to the “Ah, yes!” moment every time you walk in your home. Our homes continue to serve multiple purposes, so design should lean into that functionality: cozy reading nooks, versatile home offices, and purposeful layouts and designs that adapt to your life.

Pro Tip: Even furniture is following a softer, warmer path. Look for furnishings and accessories with rounded edges, sculptural silhouettes, and inviting curves, which will make rooms feel approachable yet elevated.
The Takeaway
Trends come and go, but the heart of today’s design direction is clear: thoughtful comfort. From the windows to the furniture, it’s about creating spaces that feel warm, personal, and easy to live in—an approach that never goes out of style.
