How to Make Cleaning and Organizing a Beautiful Experience
By Jamie Rose Verner
Cleaning and organizing my space doesn’t have to feel like a chore; in fact, I’ve found that it can be an act of self-care, creativity, and a way to elevate my environment. I’ve always believed that how I maintain my personal space reflects my mindset. When I decided to approach cleaning with class, it transformed the experience from a mundane task into something far more satisfying. Here’s how I do it.

Setting the Stage with Elegance
Before diving into the process, I create an atmosphere that feels luxurious. I will put on my favorite playlist or inspiring podcast, light a beautiful candle, or diffuse some essential oils to set the mood. A glass of sparkling water with a slice of lemon (my favorite) or the perfect cup of tea elevates the experience. It reminds me that this is about more than just tidying up, it is about creating a sanctuary.
Decluttering with Intention
I start with one area or room and focus on decluttering. I ask myself: Does this item bring me joy? Does it serve a purpose? If the answer is no, it’s time to part ways. I donate or sell what I no longer need, and I do so with gratitude for the value those items once provided. I use a keepsake box or a designated display for sentimental items to avoid scattering them around. I also feel like the best way to start with one area is to completely clear it before organizing and designing how you want the space to look.

Investing in Chic Organizational Tools
Why settle for dull plastic bins when I can have baskets, trays, or containers that are as stylish as they are functional? A set of matching hangers makes my closet feel like a boutique, while glass jars or labeled canisters turn my pantry into a design feature. My organizational tools are an extension of my decor.
Cleaning with Quality Products
Using high-quality cleaning products has made a world of difference for me. I opt for natural, eco-friendly options that are effective and smell divine. Lavender-scented sprays, artisanal soap bars, or beautifully packaged polishes enhance my cleaning experience and make my space fresher and more refined.
Adopting Thoughtful Touches
Once my space is clean and organized, I add thoughtful finishing touches. Fresh flowers, a neatly folded throw, or a curated stack of books make any room feel complete. I pay attention to details like aligning objects on my shelves or ensuring my pillows are fluffed and arranged. These small touches go a long way in creating an inviting atmosphere.

Maintaining with Grace
The key to keeping my space organized is maintenance. I dedicate a few minutes daily to tidying up so clutter doesn’t build. I’ve turned this into a mindful ritual—whether it’s wiping down counters after dinner or straightening up my desk at the end of a workday.

Celebrating My Space
Finally, cleaning and organizing with class is about more than appearances; it’s about curating a space that inspires, uplifts, and supports me. The process itself is meditative, and the results are endlessly rewarding. Why not turn your next cleaning session into an opportunity to infuse a little elegance into your everyday life? You might just find it to be a beautiful experience.
