From Nursery to a Big Girl Room Where She Can Create Pink Childhood Memories
By Seda Piazza

Project Introduction and Vision
Transforming a nursery into a big girl (or boy) room is always a special project, knowing that they will make childhood memories and always remember this space. This room was even more meaningful, as it was designed as a 4th birthday present.

The room we were working on had a few requirements: we needed to incorporate a few existing furniture pieces, like the white dresser and the glider chair. The goal was to create something pink and dreamy, yet timeless, a space she could grow into. We also wanted to keep the sweet bunny theme since her birthday falls right around Easter time.

Design Elements and Color Palette
We began with the color palette and material selection, always the starting point for any design project. Naturally, we focused on her favorite color: pink. To create a bold yet sophisticated statement, we covered all the walls with beautiful, timeless pink forest wallpaper. It immediately set the tone for the entire room.

One of the biggest changes was replacing the crib with a white boucle queen-size bed. The boucle texture added a modern, cozy feel and provided a stylish option that she can use for many years to come. Since the wallpaper was the main statement piece, we kept the rest of the furniture simple and fresh with white tones. We added woven-wrapped nightstands with delicate scalloped detailing, bringing more texture while keeping the color scheme cohesive. Small table lamps were a must-have, perfect for nighttime reading sessions. We kept the oversized bunny art and added floating bookshelves above the glider chair, filling them with colorful books. Together, they created a playful focal point that perfectly matched her age group, tied into the room’s whimsical theme, and gave her a cozy little corner to relax and enjoy.
Finishing Touches and Functionality
When it came to custom window treatments — one of the most important finishing touches — two key aspects needed attention: blackout options for nighttime and privacy/light control during the day. We partnered with TWOPAGES Curtains and what I love most about TWOPAGES Curtains is the ability to customize every detail to fit the space perfectly. We selected draperies from the Isabella Collection in pink with blackout lining for ultimate comfort at night. For daytime light control and privacy, we chose ivory white Roman shades from the Liz Collection. This combination offered a perfectly layered look, blending beauty and functionality for the space.
Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to create a room where she can dream, grow, and create lasting memories.

Final Thoughts
This transformation is a perfect example of how intentional design choices—from furniture and wallpaper to the right window treatments—can completely redefine a space. Thanks to TWOPAGES Curtains, this big girl room is now a beautiful, functional, and timeless retreat that she will love for years to come.
