A Room Designed for Pink Childhood Memories

By Seda Piazza

In my first blog post about this room transformation, I shared the reasons and thought process behind each design decision. I mentioned that this room was created to hold pink childhood memories—and today, I want to share more about what that truly means.

Designing with Emotion in Mind

When creating a space for a young girl, the goal isn’t just to make something pretty—it’s to create a sanctuary where she feels happy, safe, and at peace. A space she can call her own. One that fills her with joy every time she walks in.

Now, just a few weeks into her living in this soft pink haven, it’s clear we’ve created something special. Seeing her enjoy this room so deeply—reading in her little nook, cuddling with her stuffed animals, or giggling with her sister as they bounce on the bed—confirms what I hoped for: this is her happy place. And that makes my heart full.

A Room That Grows With Her

From the beginning, I wanted the room to feel playful yet elegant, youthful yet timeless. While the pink tones clearly speak to her current stage in life, we were intentional about keeping the base design elevated enough that she can grow into it. One day, the little bunnies may be replaced with framed art or photos—but the room will still feel beautiful and age-appropriate.

The Power of Good Window Treatments

One of the most impactful design decisions? The window treatments.

Her custom TWOPAGES drapery from the Isabelle Collection in pink, triple pleated, paired with blackout lining, provides not only the perfect polished look, but also much-needed light control for bedtime (she loves to sleep in complete darkness!).

We also layered in Roman shades from TWOPAGES, Liz Collection in Ivory white, no lining, adding texture and privacy while maintaining a soft, elegant aesthetic. These layers help the space feel complete—and a little more grown-up.

Pro Tip: Always hang your rods high and wide, and choose drapery panels that are at least twice the window’s width for a full, luxurious look.

Final Thoughts

Now, it’s time for this sweet young lady to enjoy the room created just for her.

A thoughtfully designed space, filled with love and intention—one that will grow with her, and hold all the memories of her magical pink childhood. 💕
