A Calm, Coastal Bedroom with Soft Linen Layers

This bedroom is grounded in calm, cool neutrals—soft greys, white bedding, and natural textures layered throughout the space. Everything feels curated and serene but still warm and lived-in, creating the perfect retreat at the end of the day.

My Vision for the Bedroom

Mood: relaxed, airy, and modern coastal with a soft, Caribbean villa-level feel

Colour palette: white, soft grey, warm neutrals, and matte black accents

Textures and materials used: linen, washed wood, bouclé, down, chrome, and cotton

Decorative Details

Both the beauty and function of this bedroom come from these thoughtful details:

• The window treatments: off-white blackout woven wood Roman shades act as the foundation of the space, adding warmth, privacy, texture, and a cohesive look with the rest of my home. Layered over them are TWOPAGES’ sheer grey linen curtains, which enhance the entire room. The linen is light, soft, and moves beautifully, and the subtle grey tone adds contrast against the white walls. Because they’re sheer, they filter light softly while keeping the room crisp and elegant.

• A bold jellyfish painting beside the bed that adds a much needed big pop of colour.

• The greige upholstered bed with a footboard, brings comfort and neatness, layered with cool, crisp white Tencel sheets, a waffle throw blanket, and an oversized down duvet for a relaxed hotel feel.

• A handwoven ivory rug that adds softness underfoot and highlights the warmer tones in the floor tile.

• A unique boucle bench at the foot of the bed adds even more texture and acts as a soft landing spot (especially for our son who loves to climb into our bed!).

• A vintage black and white framed photograph of Negril beach as a nostalgic nod to Jamaica.

• Woven rattan table lamps tie back to the warmth of the blinds.

• Matte black touches, including the curtain rods and taper candles, break up the neutrals and add modern contrast.

• A pair of bronze ribbed candle sconces bring height, warmth, and an ambient glow to the room at night.

This bedroom is all about comfort and calm—natural textures, easy layers, and pieces that make the whole space feel like an escape. The combination of the sheer grey linen curtains layered over the woven Roman shades create softness, depth, and an effortless coastal look that defines the room.
