2025 Design Trends That Will Continue Into the New Year

By Georgia Barnes

The focus of this year’s interior design trends have been all about bringing color and personality back into the home. Beautiful earth-toned palettes, sustainable materials and classic home details of the past are being brought to life in new and exciting ways. Here are a few of this year’s design trends that I see carrying into next.

Bold Color

Neutral interiors are taking a backseat and color is making a comeback! Bold colors are being introduced into interiors in more ways than one. Paint, upholstery and art are perfect ways to add color into a space. Warm earthy tones like moody greens and chocolate browns are having a moment. If color feels intimidating, I always recommend starting small—a new pillow, a fun throw blanket or a small art piece.

Antiques and Vintage Décor

Purchasing home décor secondhand is trending and I am here for mixing old (new) pieces in with contemporary ones. Our homes should feel unique and personal—something you can’t recreate. Not only is sourcing used items a sustainable practice, but it adds character and personality to a space. Original art pieces, vintage rugs and wood case pieces are a great way to add character and patina to a space. As a designer, bringing a touch of something old and historical to a modern home is something I will always love. If a space is designed with intention and precedence, it will always be in style.

Layers and Patterns

The homes and interior inspiration that catch my eye time and time again, are spaces that feel thoughtfully curated and beautifully layered. Minimalism is taking a backseat to the current trend of layering and introducing more patterns in the home! Don’t be afraid to mix patterns, textures, colors or styles—it keeps things interesting and unique, which is always a good mix to have in your home.

Organic Materials

Aligning with the trending “organic” design style, interiors are seeing a rise of natural materials like marble and wood. Mixing these natural elements into a space is a great way to keep the design grounded, while adding warmth and texture.

Trends will always come and go, but with each “trend,” I believe there is something for everyone! There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to great design, and that’s what makes it exciting. Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t and create a space that feels uniquely you.
