Sheer curtains are made of a lightweight, semi-translucent fabric that allows natural light in while still softening it. They can also help diffuse sunlight and reduce glare. Sheer curtains can provide some privacy from the outside world and create a soft, outdoorsy feeling.
Softness and Movement
Add texture, softness, and movement to your room by letting the sheer curtains hang freely, while the heavier drapes can be tied back or left to drape naturally. You can hang a second layer of curtains, such as blackout curtains, behind the sheer curtains to provide privacy.
Protection
Insects don't tend to fly into windows with sheer curtains because they see them as a barrier. It can protect a room from outside dust and dirt. They can provide some level of filtration, but they may not be as effective at blocking dust as thicker, more opaque curtains.
